On February 1st, at least 14 people were killed after a Russian had struck a residential building in central Ukraine. The victims involved included two children, according to emergency services, one of many attacks across the country during that weekend.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that early Saturday morning, the Russians had targeted the building in Poltava. The fight with Ukraine hasn’t stopped even when Donald Trump is now the president who has promised to reach a ceasefire quickly.

According to the victim's colleague who had posted on Facebook, “Russia killed our colleague and her family,” Volodymyr Popereshniuk, co-owner of Nova Poshta, a Ukrainian logistics company where Olena is working, said Sunday. “Olena is currently a biology teacher by education, but in 2015 she joined Nova Poshta."

Nearly 200 people were helped by the emergency and psychologist from the country’s national police department. Both countries are still blamed for a deadly strike on a former boarding school in Russia’s Kursk region, where the Ukrainian soldiers were holding territory.

The Russian Air Force team had struck the school in the small town of Sudzha with a guided aerial bomb that killed at least four people while the locals were hiding in the building and were about to evacuate.

When the Ukrainian missile was launched the Russian air defense system detected it, said the Russian military on Sunday. The statement went on to accuse Ukraine of using the “provocation” to distract global “public opinion from Ukraine’s atrocities” in a separate area of the Kursk region.
