MAN UTD DEFENDER LISANDRO MARTINEZ CALLS OUT CLUB'S HIERARCHY
Manchester United's Lisandro Martinez launched an extraordinary attack on the club’s hierarchy after their 2-0 Champions League loss at Atletico Madrid.
The defender said he had expected more from "upstairs", blaming technical director Jason Wilcox, in the most recent transfer window in which they failed to improve their options at left-back and up front.
Man Utd spent £155m on just four major summer signings after a third-place Premier League finish last season.
"I have to control myself a lot, but sometimes it's a reflection of how our club is at the moment," Martinez told Amazon Prime.
"We had a fantastic season last season, and now we expect more from the top, from upstairs, to bring in more players to compete because many teams have brought in many players as well."

BURNHAM HAD TWO DINNERS WITH MANCHESTER CITY CHAIRMAN
Andy Burnham had two hospitality dinners with Manchester City football club's chairman and mayor of Greater Manchester, it has emerged.
The PM dined with Khaldoon Al Mubarak at matches in 2017 and 2018. Burnham has been under pressure to clarify his previous discussions with Man City since the club was found guilty of having "systematically" broken Premier League rules.
The PM sparked widespread controversy when he said last month he would be "really concerned" if the club's owners now sold up.
Downing Street has defended the two dinners with Man City's chairman, saying this was hospitality received at home games, which had been declared, rather than separate meetings with the club chairman.

VIKING 3 - 3 BAYERN MUNICH: KANE BREAKS MESSI RECORD
Norwegian champions Viking produced one of the biggest results in their history to hold six-time European winners Bayern Munich to a thrilling draw in the Champions League.
Viking scored two first-half goals to take control, before Harry Kane equalised with a penalty and back-post header.
Luis Diaz gave Bayern the lead with a tap-in, but Michael Olise was sent off shortly after for two yellow cards in the same phase of play.
Kane's brace, which pulled Bayern level, means he has 36 goals in 40 Champions League games since turning 30, taking him one clear of Lionel Messi's record of 35 strikes in his thirties.
The 33-year-old has scored in nine successive Champions League games – a feat only achieved by Ruud van Nistelrooy, Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo, who holds the record with 11 games.
