12 hours ago Randomizer

Thinla's song "Bae" has won the right to represent Laos at the inaugural edition of the Eurovision Song Contest Asia, hosted on November 14 in Bangkok, Thailand, after beating out her two other songs, "Water" and "Star".

The Lao broadcaster, VTE9, presented the audience with three songs and tasked us with voting for which ones were our favourites, and on Wednesday, September 23rd, Thinla performed all three songs live for us to vote on.

Voting was open for fans across the globe, and, at a climactic results show on September 24, Sieng Lao: The One concluded with "Bae" having won.

Eurovision Asia will not be the first time that Thinla has represented Laos on an international stage. She has previously represented her country at the Round Festival in Busan, Republic of Korea, presenting Lao music at an international level to a broad audience, and she will attempt to do the same in Bangkok. Thinla has received recognition for promoting her heritage across her music too, as she has performed at both the 44th and 45th ASEAN summits and the 45th ASEAN AIPA ceremony. She is attempting to bring Lao music to new heights.
