A famous Manchester bus route has recently seen its fame broadcast to the world by means of a new song by Mancunian band Blossoms. The 192 bus is a key corridor route between Manchester, Stockport and Hazel Grove and features prominently in their latest song, "Additional Driver", which features fellow alt-indie artist Declan McKenna covering a journey from a gig at the O2 Apollo in the city. Transport for Greater Manchester's chief network officer Danny Vaughan said: "For many people across Greater Manchester, the 192 is more than a bus route. It's part of daily life and part of the story of growing up, working, studying and socialising in our city-region. It's brilliant to see a hometown band like Blossoms put the route centre stage and introduce it to audiences beyond Greater Manchester."

Oxfordshire County Council has announced plans to reopen the rail line to two Oxfordshire villages, one of which will see passenger trains return to a line that has not seen trains since 1960. The village of Ardley has been lined up to receive a passenger railway station; meanwhile, the nearby village of Kidlington looks set to receive a rail freight terminal. Oxfordshire Railfreight Limited, the organisation behind the freight hub, said the scheme would "help reduce congestion, carbon emissions and pressure on the strategic road network."
If all goes to plan, the schemes would be completed within the next decade.

A widow, whose husband died after severe turbulence on their flight and who herself suffered severe back injuries, is attempting to sue the airline in the UK's High Court. They were both injured onboard a Singapore Airlines flight in 2024. Anthe Korelidou, a specialist aviation lawyer who is representing Kitchen, said: "That Geoff was fatally injured and Linda suffered severe injuries vividly highlights the severity of what happened. While it's more than two years since Geoff's death, Linda and the rest of her family continue to have a number of questions and concerns about what happened and if more could have been done to prevent their injuries."
