Welcome to What's On! This week, we will discuss The Pitt and review it. We'll have a brief discussion about the media and some of its main characters. To top it off, we have some reviews from the internet, and my own personal opinion.

Television rules our lives; they are the most influential thing that anybody could come across. Each genre offers an excellent medium for various shows, for everybody to enjoy.

The Pitt

The Pitt. It is a realistic healthcare TV show, similar to Grey's Anatomy, but without the love interests - more focused on the medicine. This American Drama created by R. Scott Gemmill showcases an emergency department, with 15 hour shift, each season being only one shift. Showing the twists and turns that an ED goes through while operating the day shift. It is based in the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Medican Centre, looking at shortages of staff and nurses, not enough funding and each person having their own issues to deal with. The episodes of each season are roughly around 13 episodes per season, and set in place in real time.

IMBd reviews of The Pitt | Source: Cal

Taking a look at these reviews, we can see the positive experience past healthcare workers have had watching this show, and how realistic the show is. A lot of these reviews mention on how realistic this show is with working within an Emergency Department. An behind the scenes look of The Pitt mentions that they rehearse the procedures to make them look real. They even have past healthcare workers playing doctors or nurses in the show!

My Review of the show:
Watching this show is like a movie. Taking a look at how an Emergency Department runs within American healthcare, and showcasing the issues that they come across in everyday life. Simple things like Trauma coming in, or simply dealing with patients in a waiting room. This show is a whirlwind, and is super addictive to watch! (I watched 7 episodes in one night. Yes that is 7 hours...) This show focus on multiple things at one, and not putting your mind at ease with all the Trauma, and a million things happening at once. If you are a fan of medical dramas, I would suggest you watch this!

Amazing article. I have watched quite a few drama shows in the past, most recently being the One Chicago series of show. The Pitt sounds like a great show to possibly pick up and watch (if I have time of course.
