Following an incident which took place at Dublin Airport, Republic of Ireland, where a man was struck and killed by a bus, the victim has now been identified as John Fleming, a known publisher of the Irish Racing Year Book, which details horseracing in Ireland, as well as breeding within the racehorse industry. After approximately midnight on Thursday evening, at the front of the airport grounds, the crash took place on Corballis Road. This is the road that links the airport itself and the roundabout at the front of the airport's proximity. Gardaí, which is the Irish police, had attended the scene, alongside personnel from other emergency services, such as ambulances, where Fleming was declared dead on-scene.

Fleming had published the aforementioned Racing Year Book for over twenty (20) years, which is two (2) decades, purely because of his enthusiasm in the industry of horseracing. The Chief Executive of Horse Racing Ireland also made a post on the social media platform Facebook as a tribute. Dublin Airport Authority made similar comments in respect for the publisher.
Fleming's body was moved to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, while the scene on the road was kept closed and preserved for forensic examinations to take place. The Irish police have begun an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, which Dublin Airport Authority have stated they will support them with.
