Welcome to What's On! This week, we will discuss The Rookie and review it. We will have a brief discussion about the media and some of its main characters. To top it off, we have some reviews from the UpBeat community and some from the internet.
Television rules our lives; they are the most influential thing that anybody could come across. Each genre offers an excellent medium for various shows, for everybody to enjoy.
The Rookie
The Rookie is an American police drama, following John Nolan, a newly divorced man, and a new recruit in the LAPD. Being 40 years old and claimed to be in a midlife crisis, he is the oldest rookie in the LAPD. The series follows multiple different storylines, of training officers, detectives and fellow rookies with personal lives, romance and the psychological toll of police. Nolan has to face scepticism from superiors and the unpredictable nature of police work.

Winter is an American actor, appeared in TV shows such as The Rookie, The Ugly Truth and The Good Doctor. Eric portrays Tim Bradford in the Rookie. In addition to his other career, he has also been a model and appeared in a commercial with Britney Spears.
Melissa O'Neil

O'Neil is a Canadian actress and also a singer-songwriter. She has won a season of Canadian Idol and is also known for her role in The Rookie as Lucy Chen. In addition to this, she has also featured in stage shows like High School Musical, Les Miserables an Dirty Dancing.

This is the type of show you will see on TikTok, or around on other social media with the weird music playing in the background. When you properly watch it, it is very engaging. It is widely praised as entertaining, and fans are loving Nathan Fillion's humour and character. In addition to this, the wide dynamic cast is great to see, having multiple different side stories that actually get told is very comforting for a TV show! Currently has 8 seasons and a 9th season is due to be released soon. The show has had a wide range of cast changes, but they are done perfectly.
If you ever get the chance to watch this show, I would definitely watch it! It is currently on Disney+, and Prime Video.
