As Oulton Park slowly descends on the British GT Championship, let's have a look at some things that you should look out for on the 23rd of May, raceday:

1: BMW Leads the standings

After taking second at the British GT's blue riband event, the Silverstone 500, Jonathan Beeson and Charles Clark both are top of the GT3 standings after the overall winners, Yasser Shahin and Garnet Patterson were guest entries.

This will be interesting as Beeson has raced on the picturesque Cheshire circuit before in Porsches, but his teammate, Clark, hasn't had as much experience in recent years as he has been doing the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe.

2: Ginetta V Aston Scraps

Innovation Racing's Ginetta GT4, driven by Thomas Holland(Not that one!) and Hadley Simpson snatched the win from the palms of MK Racing's Aston Martin GT4, driven by Jess Hawkins and Jamie Orton.

This was done with a series of convenient Full Course Yellow pit stops made by the Ginetta crew. At the end of the third and final one, Simpson had gained a lead it wouldn't lose. That puts them top of GT4 with 37.5 points over MK's 27

3: Multiple catagories to enjoy

On the late May Bank Holiday alongside the British GT Championship, you can find a range of support series racing for all the points up for grabs. They include:

The GB4 Championship

The Ginetta Junior, GT Academy and GT Championship

and the CSCC Liqui Moly Slicks and New Millennium Series.

I will give you all a race report when it is done, for now, enjoy the racing and enjoy the scenes, at Oulton Park!
