VICTORIA'S SECRET IS TRANS-PHOBIC?
The Chief Marketing Officer of the well-known high-street brand, Victoria's Secret has apologized this week for saying that transgender models should not be allowed in its annual shows.
He stated this when he was involved in a Vogue magazine interview about diversity within models saying that his comments were "insensitive"
Mr Razek told Vogue when he was part of the casting tea he had thought about adding both transgender and Plus-sized models into the show but he didn't want to as the company "did not market to the whole world".
Mr Razek continued the interview by saying: "Does the brand think about diversity? Yes. Do we offer larger sizes? Yes. People ask; shouldn't you have transsexuals in the show? No. No, I don't think we shoud.. the show is a fantasy. It's a 42-minute entertainment special. That's what it is. The only one of it's kind in the world."
The comments he made were accompanied with the decline in sales in Victoria's Secret stores worldwide since 2016.
