UK Driving license changes!
As everyone currently knows how big of an impact Brexit will have, another problem has appeared. A statement from the British Government claims that UK Drivers may need an international permit to drive in Europe as soon as Brexit gets put in place. It has also be stated that you may need at least 6 months left on your passport to even travel into Europe.
According to a report from the National Audit Office that between 100,000 to seven million international driving permits will need to be issued within the first year that Brexit is active. AA president Edmund King said: "This will be an extra burden for UK drivers wanting to take a holiday abroad. We envisage quite a rush on post offices next year for the £5.50 IDPs if no deal is reached. Hopefully an agreement can be reached to prevent further red tape and expense for drivers."
This doesn't even rule out how this could apply to the Ireland, meaning you may not be able to use a UK driving License there either. But the good thing is Ireland's National Driver Licence Service website says: "As a visitor to Ireland, you can drive on a driving license from any state outside the EU/EEA for up to a year provided the driving license is current and valid."
Hopefully, this doesn't happen as it will be a huge problem for UK Drivers.
