Fortnite Used in Interviews

A French marketing firm is implementing the popular cross-platform game, Fortnite in its job interview stages.
It would be stupid to not acknowledge the rapid growth of Fortnite. Fortnite is a cross-platform "Battle Royale" game available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo devices and more. Fortnite made a neat revenue of nearly $300million in April alone and $318million in May.

Fortnite allows up to 100 players to jump into a map at the same time, where they will need to land in a location to loot and kill. The winner is the last player standing gaining a "Victory Royale"

Fortnite wasn't the first game to adopt this style of gameplay, but it is unique with the cartoon feel and emotes.

However, Fortnite is now being adapted into real-world situations, including interviews from a French marketing company.

Potential candidates are asked to add "Dare.Win" on the PlayStation Network and answer interview questions whilst playing a game of Fortnite.

Dare.Win state that this method fits in with the branding of the company and the business model - as they are an entertainment-based marketing agency. Successful candidates will then go on to work with clients such as PlayStation, YouTube and Spotify.

However, if the candidate is not up for the challenge, they can request a more traditional method of interviewing instead.

The agency states they receive applications from countries over the world including Turkey and Sweden.

However, even the communications manager at the same agency admits it isn't the easiest way of conducting an interview, as candidates will have to focus on playing the game of Fortnite and take in the questions being asked and formulate an answer as quickly as possible.

This style of interview is definitely different and unique. Maybe this is a step too far, or perhaps it is a leap forwards/backwards in how application processes will evolve in the future.
