After the success of last week's edition, "10 questions to..." is back with a brand new edition and for one week only, Tyson will be taking a seat and answering my questions so we can all get to know them better!
Last week, Hansen nominated Tyson, and I couldn't wait to how they would respond to the questions...
So without further ado... it's time for 10 QUESTIONS TO... Tyson!
Kie: Who are you and what do you do at UpBeat?
Tyson: Hello, well most of you already know me, and I've done one of these before, but hi I'm Tyson and I'm an Administrator here at UpBeat, as an Admin we generally do so much I wouldn't be able to put it all into one sentence, so I'll leave that with you to know how much we do
Kie: What do you most enjoy about being an Administrator at UpBeat?
Tyson: I enjoy UpBeat as a whole and not just my role itself, I've been here 4+, or is it 5? I don't know, time flies by so fast... But honestly being at UpBeat has helped me in so many ways, and is great for meeting people from around the world, our community and radio is one of the most unique.
Kie: How did you discover UpBeat and what made you want to apply?
Tyson: I First started listening to UpBeat in 2016 or 2017 I can't quite remember, but I was first inspired in 2016 by a previous Presenter who went by the name of Smokes (Justine), and the main person that furthermore inspired me to get into Radios and Communities was our very own Liz, she came onto a game I was playing and I was so pumped and excited to see her, almost like she was a celebrity of sorts haha... I'm now very much close friends with Liz, love her so much, that woman deserves the world! now... I first applied in 2017 after two previous staff members (Erin and David) kept begging me to apply, I eventually did, and well here I am! still here!
Kie: Do you have any smells which you just love? (e.g petrol...)
Tyson: First of all, why is petrol an example??? People who love the smell of petrol need a new nose, anyways the some of many smells that I love and are nostalgic about is burning incense or the smell of a house after the incense has been burned, or the smell of a curry cooking, yes I'm Asian so that smell is very much nostalgic!
Kie: If you could be fluent in another language other than your own, what language would you choose?
Tyson: I feel like I'd want to be fluent in Mandarin, it seems like a very sophisticated language to learn or my "own" I quote that as my family is Asian but I myself am not from Myanmar (Burma/Burmese) but I'd love to learn Burmese too.
Kie: What is your favourite and least favourite subject to study in school?
Tyson: When I was in school (I'm 22 now lmao) I dreaded mathematics, I was just awful at it, my favourite class would have been Media Studies, I loved making and editing movies.
Kie: What is one guilty pleasure that you enjoy too much to give up?
Tyson: I feel like I have so many, that people wouldn't understand, but if its food, I'd say Banh Mi, its a type of Vietnamese roll with pork, many Vietnamese toppings, sauces & pastes, it just tastes soo good, and it was a special lunch food I would have growing up. My guilty pleasure for shows would be Gilmore Girls, such a good show, could not put it into words, it's the type of show when it ends you feel accomplished but not at the same time.
Kie: If you could eliminate one event from history, which event would you choose & why?
Tyson: This is a tough one, as a lot of bad events, form us to this day, and helps us create better things and make better decisions, I'd have to pass on that, as if some events didn't happen, we wouldn't be able to evolve and make better changes to prevent such things, harsh but also unfortunate. But if there was one(2) events I would eliminate from history is probably Australian Bushfires, or Chernobyl & The Chief Engineer's, as it's possible another explosion can happen, and it's roughly 20,000 years until Chernobyl will be safe.
Kie: If you found £1,000 on the floor, what would you do with it? (If you would keep & spend it, how would you spend it?)
Tyson: I would probably just put it in my savings!
Kie: Do you consider yourself a morning person or a night person?
Tyson: I never sleep well so definitely not a morning person, I would say more of a night person, as night seems to be the time of the day where all worries go away...
Kie: I know the article is called 10 questions to... but I have one more question for you! Who would you like to nominate for next week's article?
Tyson: I nominate Kacper :>
