Hull Trains worst for Punctuality across the UK
The latest punctuality figures on Britains railways have been released and for once, it's not Govia Thameslink Railway at the bottom, this time, FirstGroup owned Hull Trains has taken the spot.
According to figures, Hull Trains has only been able to keep 36.8% of its services on time, followed closely by Transpennine Express (also owned by FirstGroup) managing to keep 38.7% of its services on-time and London North Eastern Railway managing to keep 41% of their services on time.
The figures released by the Office of Rail and Road showed that less than two thirds of the stops made by Hull Trains were completed to schedule since last years figures.
Operating services between the Capital and Hull, Hull Trains shares the tracks with London North Eastern Railway and also Govia Thameslink Railway, and this may contribute towards the figures released, the company said that it "faced a number of challenges throughout the last year, some of which were unavoidable"
Under new Railway Regulations, punctuality is recorded at all scheduled stops, as opposed to just the terminal as it was in years prior, this has massively changed the board and sees Italian owned company, Trenitalia, who operate the c2c franchise in South Essex which recorded 83.2% of its services on time.
