Celtic vs Rangers aka the Glasgow Derby aka the "Old Firm" is being played for the 418th time this Sunday
nown all around the world as the "Old Firm" and the Glasgow Derby, Celtic vs Rangers is one of the biggest rivalries's in world football, in recent years it hasn't been as good as it used to be with Rangers being liquidated in 2012 prompting the formation of a new club which was called "The Rangers Football Club" instead of "Rangers Football Club". The new team was then made to start in the lower leagues before over the years making their way back up to the top league in Scottish football.
Once Rangers made it back to the top league they struggled to get past Celtic, failing to win every derby game they played in since promotion up until the 29th of December 2018 which is when Rangers finally beat Celtic with a 1-0 win at Ibrox Stadium, which is the home ground for the team.
The last meeting between Celtic and Rangers saw Celtic win 2-1 at their home of Celtic Park on the 31st of March 2019. The game which is taking place this weekend is the first Glasgow Derby of the 2019/20 season and is taking place at the home of Rangers which is Ibrox Stadium. Rangers have won their last 2 home matches against Celtic which will make Sunday even more interesting.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard will be hoping for another home win for the "The Teddy Bears" but will Celtic manager Neil Lennon and "The Bhoys" be able to give Rangers a wake-up call?
