bRITISH AIRWAY PILOTS PLAN STRIKE FOR 3 DAYS
Many disruptions will occur on September 9th, 10 and the 27th as British Airway pilots have confirmed they will be going on strike which will cause many disruptions for people who are wanting to go on holiday in that time frame. The BALPA, known as the Union British Airline Pilots Association has confirmed the strike on Friday which was followed with weeks of negotiations with the airline.
If the airline bosses cannot negotiate with the union more strikes will occur until they come up to an agreement.
The BALPA has stated that:
"Over several days of ACAS talk BALPA put forward a number of packages that we believe would have resolved this dispute without a strike, and which we could have recommended to our members for acceptance prior to strike action."
BALPA has further said that:
"British Airways is an extremely profitable and successful company, and pilots have been proud to play their part in that."
