Triple Olympic gold medalist ed clancy, obe, will be on the starting line for the Newcastle grand Prix
Ed Clancy won gold with Team GB in the cycling team pursuit at the Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games. He also won gold at six world championships, he has had his eyes on an incredible fourth gold medal in Tokyo in 2020.
He will be in the Newcastle town centre to complete the Newcastle Grand Prix as part of the Vitus pro cycling team, leading a field of some of the best cyclists from some of the country's leading teams.
The Grand Prix will be a high adrenaline, fast-and-furious race around the town centre circuit. The action starts at 5 pm with a series of younger riders races before the pros take to the track.
