'Bohemian Rhapsody' reaches 1 BILLION views
Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody was released in 1975 but to this day continues to break records despite being released just under 44 years ago! The highly-acclaimed song has recently become the oldest video to reach the amazing milestone of 1 billion views on YouTube.
The 'Bohemian Rhapsody' music video is the first released in the 1970s or, in fact, any year before 1990 to reach the tremendous milestone.
It is only very recently that a music video managed to break 1 billion views and that was back in 2012 when global sensation 'Gangnam Style' by Psy achieved it. The milestone has only previously been achieved twice again by Luis Fonsi with his song 'Despacito' and Guns N' Roses' with their song 'November Rain'.
On Monday, 'November Rain' became the first 20th Century song to reach 1 billion views only narrowly beating 'Bohemian Rhapsody' who achieved this on Tuesday.
Queen are thought to have been given a boost in their attempts to gain 1 billion views by the release of the Freddie Mercury biopic that is also named 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. The movie was released in 2018 and became a global success.
