Storm Area 51: US military are ready to confront all 600,ooo people.
Over 600,000 people have signed a petition to storm area 51 as of July 14th. This all started as a joke on the social media site Facebook, but over the time period of 14 days it turned out to be a big event.
People of the public meme page, 'Shitposting cause i'm in shambles', and a Twitch streamer named SmyleeKun teamed up to organise the event known as 'Storm Area 51, They Can't Stop All of Us'.
The public were asked to fly out to Nevada and meet up at the Area 51 Alien Centre tourist attraction at 3 am and all storm the secretive military base.
They are all advised to run using the 'naruto run' which is a comic 'meme' style of running. The event description says this: "If we naruto run we can move faster then their bullets. Lets see them aliens". This has gained a lot of attention recently, being all over social media and even in the news.
Area 51 is a "Highly secured, secret military research and testing base in Nevada. Often times referred to as Groom Lake. Although many know of it's location, it's existence is "officially" denied even to this day." - Urban Dictionary.
The US government have responded to this. Ms McAndrews added: “The US Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets”. This, however, does not tell us how officials would respond to intruders.
