A POUNDLAND STORE HAS ACCIDENTALLY PLACED A SELECTION OF SEX TOYS IN ITS BACK TO SCHOOL AREA
We've all seen cases where people have put bottles of bleach in areas marked as 'Back to School' in shops, however a branch of the British discount store Poundland took the cake this week after placing sex toys with its back to school items.
Poundland's store in Surbiton, London has been blasted on social media after Twitter users posted pictures of sex stamina timers placed on shelves directly next to a 'Back to School' sign.
Twitter user 'DiggerPup' said, "I don't know much about the current sex education curriculum these days but I'm sure they don't recommend sex stamina hourglasses."
However, it wasn't just a collection of Twitter keyboard warriors who were outraged; a few days after the tweet was posted, Poundland received a letter from the Kingston Independent Residents Group.
A representative for the group said "Families should feel confident in taking their children to a family-friendly shop, and this completely goes against that. I hope Poundland will take swift action and take action with those who are at best poorly trained, and at worst taking part in some kind of twisted joke."
In an official statement, the firm seemed to see the funny side and sided with the store.
"Oops - this was a fun Valentine's item that's popped up by mistake. We've moved it faster than the 10 minutes we gave ourselves," they said.
