Mental Health and Self care are Important!


As of the 4th of October 2018, One in four people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives.

Around 450 million people currently suffer from such conditions, placing mental disorders among the leading causes of ill-health and disability worldwide.

So from those statistics, 25% of people will suffer from Depression, Anxiety and other mental health issues.

With this number on the rise, people need to know where they can get help, or how they can help themselves.

In this article, I'll explain:

Topic 1: Depression

1.A: How does depression affect people?

Depression affects people in many ways, such as fatigue, nausea, mood swings, etc.

It can become a serious problem to your health.


1.B: Stats?

Depression is a common mental disorder.

Globally, more than 300 million people have depression.

Depression is the leading cause of disability worldwide and is a major contributor to the overall global burden of disease.

More women are affected by depression than men.


1.C: Ways to get help;

There are many foundations and charities that help, as well as helplines such as Samaritans and Childline.

A good way to help yourself is to take up a new hobby, something you enjoy, or just take time for yourself!

1.A: How does Anxiety affect people?

Anxiety affects peoples central nervous system and plays mind tricks on our vital organs, making us feel like we can't breathe.


1.B: Stats?

Surpassing even depression, anxiety is the most common form of mental illness in the United States.

It's estimated that approximately 10 percent of teenagers and 40 percent of adults suffer from an anxiety disorder of some kind.


1.C: Ways to get help;

There are many foundations and charities that help, as well as helplines such as Samaritans and Childline.

A good way to help yourself is to remain calm, ask others for help and remember that it won't last forever.


So with mental health issues on the rise, it's important that we remember to take time for ourselves and that there is

help out there!
