APPLE'S CHIEF DESIGNER IS LEAVING

Designer of many familiar products such as the iMac, iPod and the iPhone has announced that he will be leaving Apple later this year to start his own brand-new venture.

Jony's venture is a creative firm named LoveFrom, and Apple will be the company's first client.
The firm will be fully launched in 2020, however the transition will occur later this year.

Jony stated that "While I will not be an [Apple] employee, I will still be very involved - I hope for many, many years to come."

He also went onto say that: "This just seems like a natural and gentle time to make this change."

Jony Ive designed many features and aesthetics which have now become iconic to the products, and the Apple company.

He is currently the Chief Design Officer, but no immediate successor has been named yet who will take over in this position.

LoveFrom, the venture Jony is starting has little information available at the moment, however Jony has said that it will be based in California, and he will be joined by Marc Newson who joined Apple's design team in 2014, and will play an important role in the new, ambitious venture.

Although not everything has been released yet, there have been hints that LoveFrom would like to focus on developing further wearable technology and healthcare, which were two of Apple's priorities. Apple will be using the company for design services for various projects which have been unspecified as of yet.

In Jony's time at Apple since 1996, he has been said to hold more than 5,000 patent designs, and even helped to create the "spaceship" Apple Park Headquarters.

He will be dearly missed by Apple customers.
