John Tossell Of Bridgend Declared Missing On The Greek Island Of Zante

On the 17th of June, John Tossell (73) was declared missing on the island of Zante. He was reportedly taking a walk up the "Panagia Skopiotissa Monastery".

Emergency Services, including the police and the coast guard, have now scaled down the search for John Tossell. His family have also flown to Zante to continue the search on a much smaller scale. His daughter, Katy Tossell, describes him as 'quite an active man'.

He left their holiday apartment at around 10:00 in the morning, they knew he made it to the top as a local café owner sighted the 73-year-old. According to his family, he was only carrying €10, not even his passport.

The café owner also mentioned that it was very hard to go off the track, it's too difficult to go across the country. Even the goats can't cross. He also stated it's not a big area.

Zante otherwise known as Zakynthos is a very small island, very popular with tourists. It only has 1 international airport.
