Tim Cook tears apart other tech companies at a conference in Stanford, California. Apple advocates privacy above all else, and Tim Cook, as the CEO and representative of Apple, took the liberty to attack their competitors. The competition included Google and Facebook, among other Silicon Valley companies. He called them out for their lack of creativity and motivation to produce innovative products, “Lately it seems this industry is becoming better known for a less noble innovation”.
Cook continued his statement by claiming these companies disregard the harassment received and delivered on their platforms and do nothing to prevent these issues, “We see it every day now with every data breach, every privacy violation, every blind eye turned to hate speech, fake news poisoning out national conversation, the false miracles in exchange for a single drop of your blood”. He believes these corporations were dodging their responsibilities of protecting their users and medias.
The internet has become a bullying bloodbath. Whether it is racist and/or homophobic comments, blackmailing, or plain name-calling, these forms of harassment feed off of the world wide webs playground of social medias and websites.
I think we can all agree, Tim cook has snapped.
