THE Eiffel Tower is closed!
The Eiffel Tower, located in France, Paris, has been closed to visitors due to members of the public seeing a person scaling the tower on Monday the 20th of May.
The Eiffel Tower in Paris was evacuated after a person was seen climbing up the side of the structure.
Police said the climber was a male.
A Paris police spokeswoman said a team of firefighters including a climbing specialist at the scene was in contact with the man.
This isn't the first time that someone has tried to scale the Eiffel Tower.
In 2015, British “free runner” James Kingston climbed the structure without any safety ropes and without permission, avoiding all security cameras as he went.
Because of this, in 2017, a protective glass wall measuring 65 millimetres (about 2.5 inches) thick and resistant to bullets was erected around the base of the tower to provide increased security.
