Who is Cj de Mooi?

CJ de Mooi, who is also known as Connagh Joeseph De Mooi is a professional British quizzer.

He was born on 5th November 1969 and is currently aged at 49.

He was born in Barnsley, West Riding of Yorkshire, England. 

What happened?

The 49-year-old star who has been featured on the BBC Two quiz show, which was aired in 2016.

But at that time he was accused of assaulting a man.

The allegations were later found out to be fake and it claimed the reports had harmed his career in an irrevocable way.

Now CJ De Mooi has moved onto Twitter to update his followers more on his life.

He had claimed he may only have a few years left to live after battling AIDS for three decades.

CJ went on to say: "I've been living with Aids for 30 years but the agony of the last 3 years means I may not have many left."

This was said on Sunday.


CJ also faced financial hardship amid the huge legal bills, which then he was faced to pay in fighting extradition to the Netherlands over allegations that CJ had murdered a homeless man in Amsterdam in 1988.

In his biography, CJ had written that he was confronted by a knife-wielding thug in the city, and "half-punched, half-pushed" him into a canal then walked away.

Once again these allegations were dropped however he was supposedly left bankrupt facing a life on the street.

A fund has been set up to help CJ.

Fans were encouraged to donate and CJ's account had been taken over by someone who'd update punters on the progress, later on, this was released from his Twitter.

However, CJ is extremely ill and is in imminent danger of losing his house along with being bankrupt.
