NETFLIX CONFIRMS THEY KILLED AIRPLAY SUPPORT, WON'T LET YOU BEAM SHOWS TO APPLE TV'S ANYMORE.
Netflix says the reason of this is simply because of "technical limitation" is that the truth?
Netflix spoke to 'TheVerge' about this incident and came out saying it was due to a 'technical limitation' but later revealed the truth.
Apple partnered with many major TV brands, and did not distinguish digital identifiers due to 'AirPlay 2' not having digital identifiers which makes this incredibly hard for Netflix.
Netflix was only able to allow apple users to watch from one device to another due to those digital identifiers, with 'AirPlay 2' it makes it hard on Netflix to confirm that their users are getting the best Netflix experience.
This also means that Netflix has stopped allowing Apple TV set-box to cast Netflix.
"We want to make sure out members have a great Netflix experience on any device they use. With AirPlay support rolling out to third-party devices, there isn't a way for us to distinguish between devices (what is an Apple TV vs. what isn't) or certify these experiences. Therefore, we have decided to discontinue Netflix AirPlay support to ensure our standard of quality for viewing is being met. Members can continue to access Netflix on the built-in app across Apple TV and other devices." - The Netflix Company
Both Apple and those TV manufactures want to use Netflix to sell their new fancy AirPlay 2 TV's to many users.
