O2 turns into O3 for Drake's residency

What is o2?

O2 is a mobile network operator and the principal commercial brand of Telefónica UK Limited, which is actually part of a global telecommunications group. O2 was awarded Best Network Coverage in 2019 by a company called uSwitch, with over 32 million connections to the network!

Why do it though?

O2 has recently altered its signage which has made it become named "O3" for 11 days! This is in honour of Drake's residency at the venue. In Drakes song which goes by God's Plan, he states "And you know me, turn the O2 into the 03"  Following this Drake is performing 7 gigs at AEG Europe's entertainment venue which begins at 1st April

The O2 brand direction Rachel Swift described the signage as "something special for Drake and his fans, making God's Plan a reality." Now to me, this sounds crazy, but in addition to this whole name change, there's going to be a prize draw for Drake's fans to win a pair of tickets to one of the gigs. This can be won by sending a photo in front of the venue using the hashtag #DrakeTheO3.

The vice-president of global partnerships Nathan Kosky, said "We were delighted to work with O2 to change the name of the venue to The O3, in celebration of Drake's residency. Big, bold brand statements are symptomatic of our partnership with O2; putting fans at the heart of experiences and ensuring maximum entertainment is what matters most at The O2."
