80-Year-old janitor comes in to work to a birthday surprise
Haze Mabry, a janitor at an elementary school in Georgia, comes to the school every day to sweep, mop, and empty trash cans for the teachers and students. Last week though, instead of coming into the school to garbage to clean up, he was surprised by nearly 800 elementary students who were there to sing him happy birthday. They had handmade cards and noisemakers, and even made banners to celebrate the mans birthday.
The students chanted his name as he walked the halls, and some students even popped out of the lines in the halls to hug the man. He ended up with so many cards that their were students who had to carry around buckets filled with them for the janitor. Mabry thanked all the students, commenting that he knows most of the students by their faces, and was extremely appreciative for the cards and love shown by the students. Mabry said he felt loved that day, and it meant so much to him that the students cared that much.
He commented on one card that stood out to him. It read "Mr. Haze, you are my sunshine."
"I felt the same way about them." Haze said.
