10 Students Arrested for playing PUBG In India
Police in Gujarat, India arrested ten students for playing PUBG Mobile because they recently banned the game for the reason "too addictive and violent."
The game is still legal in the rest of India, but this was singled out in Gujarat. The students were released on bail.
So why was it banned?
Educators & parents in Gujarat raised concerns that the game was too violent and that the students were "too engrossed" instead of studying.
A minister from Gujarat even came out and described the game to be "a demon in every house."
Last Month the developers of PUBG (Bluehole) released a statement saying: "we also believe that it is essential for us to be a responsible member of the gaming ecosystem. To this end, we constantly work and shall continue to work with parents, educators, and government bodies, and listen to their feedback on what we can do.”
With all this going on with PUBG, Fortnite has not yet received any restrictions or any legal trouble.
