Doctor who delayed until 2020.
Despite just airing the season 11 finale of Doctor Who, featuring new doctor Jodie Whittaker, the BBC has confirmed the next outing will be in 2020.
The news doesn’t come as a shock as there were many discussions and rumours about this before but they were also fired down by reports saying that it wasn’t true. Despite the rumours that many fans would have seen, many were left in disappointment and some said on Twitter that they wouldn’t know how to survive without new episodes of Doctor Who.
A BBC representative has said the delay comes after specific filming requirements, she said that there was a ‘recognition that fans might want a series every single year’ but that it was very tricky to fulfil as “ has almost uniquely complex filming requirements and a lengthy post-production period”
It also comes after a shock move that the BBC will move the Doctor Who Christmas Special to New Years Day for the first time ever, It is also believed that another show will not be made for next Christmas or New Year.
The Christmas Special launches on the 1st January and is titled ¨Resolution¨. If you are a Doctor Who fan, be sure to watch it as it may be the last article for a while.
